About Me!
Isha Gangavaram is a Senior at The Academy for Health and Medical Sciences in Bridgewater, NJ. She has been learning Bharatanatyam since the age of 8 under the tutelage of Guru Suba Parmar and Guru Swamimalai K. Suresh. Throughout her dance journey, Bharatanatyam has allowed her to delve into her Indian heritage and gain an appreciation for this art. Outside of dance, Isha enjoys playing soccer for her school's varsity team and volunteering as part of the Jewish Family Services Organization as a Senior Helper, assisting local elderly affected by neurological disorders with grocery shopping. Ever since she was a little girl, Isha has always been fascinated with robots, microcontrollers, and sensors. In her sophomore year, she, along with her 3 teammates, brought 4 robots to life to create a lively robotic performance surrounding the question of "Can Robots Be Creative?" After a successful performance, her team won Gold at Nationals and ranked Top 10 Internationally. She continues to pass on her love for robotics as a current Robotics and Computer Science Instructor at Storming Robots in Branchburg, NJ. Additionally, she loves applying her engineering skills in addressing problems in medicine. As a research intern at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School she experimented with cutting-edge AI models to improve the surgical outcomes of prostate cancer patients undergoing image-guided procedures. In the future, she aspires to continue studying Biomedical Engineering and pursue a medical profession.
I am proud to announce that I am excited to continue my academic journey through the Drexel Honors + Drexel College of Medicine BS/MD Program.
